Chili (updated)
1 1/4 cup (at least) dried black beans
1 tsp each: oregano, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, chipotle powder
3 bay leaves
boiling water (enough to cover)
Wash then soak the black beans overnight. Add everything to slow cooker then cover with boiling water. Cook 5 hours on high setting. Add 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt at the end.
1lb ground chuck
big dash of: garlic powder, cumin, chipotle powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper
2 T pure ancho chili powder
saute in oil: 1 onion, 2 celery stalks (optional), 2 carrots (optional), 2 cloves garlic (optional)
2 cups tomato (jarred or fresh)
1 cup beer (preferably good craft beer)
2 cups cooked black beans
